Nigel Shadbolt, principal and fellow in Computer Science at Jesus College Oxford is the chairman and co-Founder, along with Sir Tim Berners-Lee (inventor of the world wide web) of the Open Data Institute. Nigel has transformed the widely acclaimed site in his role as an Information Adviser to the UK Government. Nigel will discuss the current state of the art in artificial intelligence research. He will also explore how far various predictions of the imminent emergence of super-intelligent machines are warranted and look at the practical impact of artificial intelligence now and in the future.
