Chemistry in Action: From poisons to personalised cancer treatment with chemistry

We are delighted to announce two sessions highlighting the very different ways chemistry can impact the human body in London this autumn.

Belle Taylor introduces the chemistry behind cancer before moving on to how cutting-edge chemical techniques are defining how we investigate and treat tumours. Belle is Strategic Partnerships Manager at Cambridge Cancer Genomics (CCG.ai), an AI biotech startup. She moved into this exciting field following a PhD in plasma phase electrochemistry.

Chemist and author Kathryn Harkup joins us to examine the chemistry behind four former medicines and their effects on the body with some killer case studies. This is an unmissable and slightly off beat look at how chemistry has been misused through the ages.
