This highly informative and inspirational enrichment day will offer comprehensive support for students preparing for the AQA A A-Level option ‘Love Through the Ages’. During the day, a series of expert speakers will motivate and inform by delivering fascinating presentations on this central literary theme as seen over time. The day will include a presentation by a leading poet, who will read from and discuss their poetry before taking questions from the audience. The programme will also include an examination session providing invaluable guidance and insights to boost students’ confidence and success.

Love in Shakespeare Nick Hutchison, Actor, Director and Lecturer

Nick Hutchison will explore how Shakespeare presents ideas about love and romance focusing on textual clues, staging issues, and the role of the audience, using examples from OthelloThe Taming of the ShrewMeasure for Measure and The Winter’s Tale.

About Nick Hutchison

Nick Hutchison is an actor, director and lecturer who has directed Shakespeare’s plays across the globe. He lectures for Shakespeare’s Globe and at universities worldwide and on Jacobean Theatre for LAMDA and RADA.

Dr Marcello Giovanelli is Senior Lecturer in English Language and Literature and Head of English at Aston University. He has published ten books and over thirty research articles and book chapters in literary linguistics. He is Chair of Examiners for A-level English language and Literature at a leading awarding body.
