We are delighted to announce that well-known literary journalist and Professor of English at UCL John Mullan will be joining us to speak at and chair this outstanding day for A-level English Literature students of the OCR specification. John writes a weekly column on contemporary fiction for The Guardian, was a Man Booker Prize judge and contributes regularly to TV and radio broadcasts.
His most recent book is What Matters in Jane Austen? and he is currently writing the 1709 – 1784 volume of the Oxford English Literary History. He will be joined by a superb line-up of lively and renowned experts who will explore contexts and comparisons across the literary texts of the period, focusing on some fascinating and relevant themes and connections. All set texts will be covered and there will be an exciting session on Shakespeare’s plays.
